Temptations
of Satan
First, Remember as believers we have power over !
Luke
10:17-19
And the
seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils
are subject unto us
through thy name.
18.And
he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19.Behold,
I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy:
and
nothing shall
by any means hurt you.
A Way Out !
1
Corinthians 10:13
There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above
that
ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be
able to bear it.
Jesus !
Hebrews
2:17-18
Wherefore
in all things it behoved him
to be made like unto his brethren,
that he
might be a merciful and faithful
high priest in things pertaining to God,
to make reconciliation for the
sins of
the people.
18.For
in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he
is able to succour them that are
tempted.
Authority in Obedience !
James
4:7

therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

3:1-5 Eve thru doubt
& lies fell into satans temptations.
Now the serpent was
more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.

really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
2. The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit
from the trees in the garden,
3. but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the
tree that is in the middle of the garden,
and you must not touch it,
or you will die.' "
4. "You will not surely die," the serpent said to
the woman.
5. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes
will be opened,
and you will be like
God, knowing good and evil."

provoked David to number Israel.
2.And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people,
Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan;
and bring the number of them to me, that
I may know it.
3.And Joab answered, The Lord
make his people an hundred
times so many more as they be:
but, my lord the king, are they not all
my lord's servants? why then doth my lord require this thing?
why will he be a cause of trespass to
Israel ?
Matthew 16:22-24 Peter
thru doubt & unbelief fell into Satans temptations.
Then Peter took him, and began
to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be
unto thee.
23.But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me,
Satan: thou art an offence unto me:
for thou savourest not the
things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24.Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will
come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow me.
Luke
22:2-4 Judas:
Oppressed or Possessed.
And the chief priests and scribes
sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3.Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being
of the number of the twelve.
4.And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests
and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
John 13:26-28
26.Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give
a sop, when I have dipped it.
And when he had dipped the
sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27.And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said
Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
28.Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake
this unto him.
Matthew 4:9-11 Jesus by
truth overcame the temptings of Satan.
And saith unto him, All
these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10.Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for
it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord
thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11.Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came
and ministered unto him.
Warnings:
James
1:13-15
Sinful
Nature of Man:
Let no man say when he is
tempted, I am tempted of God:
for God cannot be tempted
with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14.But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his
own lust, and enticed.
15.Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin:
and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Mark 4:15-16
Doubt
& lack of wisdom comes temptations.
And these are they by the
way side, where the word is
sown; but when they have heard,
Satan cometh immediately,
and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16.And these are they likewise which are sown on stony
ground; who,
when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with
gladness;
2 Timothy 2:25-26 Lack of wisdom:
Tool of Satan.
In meekness instructing those
that oppose themselves;
if God peradventure will give
them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26.And that they may recover themselves out of the snare
of the devil,
who are taken captive by him at his will.
Luke 8:12-14
Those by the way side are they
that hear; then cometh the devil,
and taketh away the word out of their
hearts, lest they should believe and be
saved.
13.They on the rock are they, which, when they hear,
receive the word with joy; and these have no root,
which for a while
believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14.And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when
they have heard, go forth,
and are choked with cares
and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
1 Thessalonians 3:4-5 Lack of Faith:
Tool of Satan.
For verily, when we were with you,
we told you before that we should suffer tribulation;
even as it came
to pass, and ye
know.
5.For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I
sent to know your faith,
lest by some means the tempter have
tempted you, and our labour be in vain.
1 Corinthians 5:4-6 Followship
with sinners: Tool of Satan.
In the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ,
when ye are gathered together, and my spirit,
with the power of our
Lord Jesus Christ,
5.To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of
the flesh,
that the spirit may be saved in the day
of the Lord Jesus.
6.Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little
leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
2 Corinthians 2:10-12 Unforgivness: Tool
of Satan.
To whom ye forgive
any
thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it,
for your sakes forgave I it
in the person of Christ;
11.Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are
not ignorant of his devices.
12.Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's
gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
2 Corinthians 12:6-8 Pride: Tool of
Satan.
For though I would desire to
glory, I
shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear,
lest any man should think of me above
that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
7.And lest I should be exalted above measure through the
abundance of the revelations,
there was given to me a thorn in the
flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me,
lest I should be exalted
above measure.
8.For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might
depart from me.
Galatians 6:1-3
Brethren, if a man be overtaken
in a
fault, ye which are spiritual,
restore such an one in the spirit of
meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be
tempted.
2.Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ.
3.For if a man think himself to be something, when he is
nothing, he deceiveth himself.
1 Timothy
5:14-16 Adultery: Tool of
Satan.
I will therefore that
the
younger women marry, bear children, guide the house,
give none occasion
to the
adversary to speak reproachfully.
15.For some are already turned aside after Satan.
16.If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let
them relieve them,
and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them
that are widows indeed.
1 Corinthians 7:4-6
The wife hath not power of her
own body, but the husband:
and likewise also
the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
5.Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent
for a time,
that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer;
and come together again, that
Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
6.But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
James
3:14-16
Envy:
Tool of Satan
But if ye have bitter
envying and
strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15.This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly,
sensual, devilish.
16.For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and
every evil work.
Matthew 26:40-41 Sluggerness: Tool
of Satan
And he cometh unto
the
disciples, and findeth them asleep,
and saith unto Peter, What,
could ye not watch with me one hour?
41.Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
John
8:44
Satan
the Liar
Ye are of your father
the
devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.
He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaketh a lie, he
speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
